ABOUT ME

My name is Andrew, the owner and sole employee of Earthseed Equipment. I started Earthseed in 2020 after teaching myself how to use a sewing machine. As a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, I know the importance and value of high quality, reliable gear.

Every piece of gear I make passes through my hands personally at every step of the process, from the moment I unpack materials to packing up a finished product. This means quality control isn't something that happens at the end of the production line, but at every stage along the way.

I strive for perfection in every item I make, and it is my goal that this be apparent when you're holding something I've made with my hands, in your hands.

Where does the name Earthseed come from?

The name Earthseed comes from the 1993 novel "Parable of the Sower" by Octavia Butler.

This book tells the story of a young woman living in the United States during a period of social and economic collapse.

The protagonist decides to start educating herself and learning valuable survival skills, trains with firearms, and builds a "survival... grab-and-run pack" to be prepared for when disaster inevitably strikes her community.

The name was originally picked arbitrarily as a placeholder, but in hindsight turned out to perfectly reflect many of the values of the business and ended up sticking.
